FIRST CLASS EMPHASIS PROGRAM AKA THE FORTRESS MOUNTAIN BRIGADE (FMB) focuses on the Rank Advancements up through First Class, plus Swimming and Basketry Merit Badges We are extremely proud of this very special program for the first year Scouter.
  FMB is a day-long program.
 Your Scouts will be formed into patrols along with Scouts from other troops. As a patrol, they will travel throughout the week learning most of the requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class.
 The Scout will demonstrate the skills he has learned to his Scout leader. When he has shown the leader that he is proficient in each skill the leader will sign off in the Scout’s book.
 Included in the Scouts FMB rotation will be their opportunity to learn to swim and ultimately complete the Swimming Merit Badge at the pool as well as the Basketry Merit Badge in the Indian Village/Handicraft Area.
 The FMB instructors will not sign off on any skill in the Scout’s book.
 The list of skills the Scouts worked on during the FMB sessions will be included in your unit’s checkout packet.
 We recommend all FMB Scouts participate in Death March 1 to work on completing 2nd Class requirement 3b.
