Welcome to the Troop 256 Website. We are sponsored by Bannockburn Baptist Church. We meet every Tuesday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Bannockburn Education Center. Bannockburn is located at 7100 Brodie Ln. Austin, Texas. Troop 256 was founded in 1991 and over the years has maintained a quality program that adheres to the principles of scouting.

We are a Journey to Excellence - Gold Award Unit for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Membership to this site is restricted to unit members and their families. If you would like information on joining the troop, or you are a member and need a user name and password to this site please use the form under "Contact Us" in the Menu area.

Eclipse over the Pines: A STEM and Conservation Weekend

This year Conservation Awards and STEM Adventure Weekend are combining to celebrate the 2023 Eclipse at Lost Pines Scout Reservation.  Along with viewing the annular Eclipse (88% zone of totality) during a picnic lunch, Scouts can take up to 3 to 5 merit badge classes during the weekend.

Biking Merit Badge Ride Day: June 11 2023

Scout Sunday: Feb 5th - Bannockburn Church

Please join us in participating in Scout Sunday to show our support for our Charter Organization, do our Duty to God, and participate in Service to others.
 
We will be serving as greeters and possibly passing out welcome cards. Please be dressed in Class A and meet at 10:30 AM in the church courtyard. The service begins at 11:00 AM.
 
We hope to have a large group in attendance.
